Two Planes Collide at San Francisco Airport
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a non-injury collision of 2 airplanes at San Francisco International Airport.

The planes, a United Airlines 757 and a SkyWest commuter jet, backed into each other Sunday night on an airfield while being pushed by "tugs," said FAA spokesman Ian Gregor. One air traffic controller was directing both airplanes. The SkyWest plane was carrying 60 passengers.

"It's a fairly common procedure," Gregor said, "but obviously in this case, something went wrong and the planes ended up bumping into each other."

The passengers aboard the smaller SkyWest plane were taken off after the incident without injury. The SkyWest plane had been on its way to Boise.

Gregor said the FAA has sent investigators to the airport to review air traffic control tapes and interview officials.
