Hello fellow Nukers and Aviators,
We have just finished coding our new Chart module designed to help Pilots (FS pilots) with their instrument flying!
This would have not been possible if not for the strong base that PHPNUKE has provided! Thank you Francisco Burzi for creating PHPNUKE!
The Module generates a graphic Chart (Flash Movie) according to our database (~8MB) of aerodromes around the world which contain:
- Latitudes and Longitudes of all Airports, Runways and NAV aids.
- Runways data including surface, heading, length and width.
- VOR and NDB location, sort and strength!
- ILS and Markers including frequencies, codes and full names!
In total we have more than 21000 aerodromes containing very detailed information. And YES, You have access to all of our data! ALL of it!
The reason we decided to use Flash Movie for our chart graphics is simple.... The Movie can be Zoomed In without loosing resolution unlike other graphic methods (JPG, GIF, Etc.) And in addition the amount of bandwidth required for displaying a Flash Movie is relatively low.
The Chart module also contains a very powerful search engine which will provide accurate searches every time.
Users can:
- Add airports to their favorite list.
- Search airports according to ICAO or Name.
- View change Logs.
- Submit and Edit all data in our database.
- Post comments.
- And most importantly, can view high quality aerodrome charts while keeping or omitting data from charts.
