NASAs Science Chief Resigns
Alan Stern, NASA's hard-charging associate administrator for science, abruptly resigned from the agency March 25.

Stern confirmed his resignation! In the message to his staff he said it had been a "privilege" to work at the agency, and praised Administrator Griffin for the job he has done with them.

"Mike and I remain on good terms," he wrote. "He remains in my eyes the best administrator NASA has ever had."

Mike announced that Ed Weiler, director of Goddard Space Flight Center, and a former associate administrator for science, will return in an interim role.
