| 2 year delays on Boeing-787 deliveries for Aeroflot |
Boeing 787 Dreamliner deliveries for Aeroflot will be delayed by at least 2 years, the Russian flagship carrier's general director said on Friday.
"Boeing has officially notified us that deliveries are being put back by 28 months," Valery Okulov said. First deliveries were due to start in 2014.
The Boeing Company previously announced delays in planned deliveries of its first 787 Dreamliners over assembly problems. The original deadline was May 2008.
Aeroflot is to receive a total of 22 long-range liners by the end of September 2016.
Boeing said earlier the delay would not affect Aeroflot's delivery schedules.
The contract for the purchase of two different types of Boeing 787, with 248 seats and 290 seats, is worth $3.6 billion in total.
The deal was approved by the Aeroflot board of directors on June 20, 2007, and by company shareholders in September.
