Four killed when light plane crashes near Moshav Batzra in Israel
4 people were killed Friday afternoon when a small aircraft crashed near the settlement Batzra (Moshva Batzra) in the Sharon, Israel.

Paramedics scrambled to the scene only to pronounced two dead immediately; shortly thereafter, 2 additional bodies were located.

Army Radio reported that the plane had been carrying 3 passengers and one pilot.

According to witnesses, the plane went down on farmland, some 50 meters away from homes on the moshav. Upon impact, it reportedly burst into flames and broke apart, its pieces scattering in all directions.

The Cessna 172 aircraft had taken off from an airport in Herzliya, and the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
